You may make accurate factual references to ESPFlight when describing compatibility, technical origin, or use of the platform.
Examples include:
- Based on ESPFlight
- Built using ESPFlight
- Compatible with ESPFlight
- Uses ESPFlight Firmware
- Designed for use with the ESPFlight Application
Such references must not imply that an independent project or product is officially produced, approved, certified, sponsored, partnered with, or endorsed by ESPFlight.
Independent Products
Makers, developers, engineers, educators, independent teams, and businesses may create hardware, kits, products, and projects based on ESPFlight technology subject to the applicable licenses.
Independent products must use their own names and branding.
ESPFlight must not be used as the primary product name or brand in a manner that could cause users to believe that an independent product is an official ESPFlight product.
ESPFlight Logo
The ESPFlight logo and other official ESPFlight brand graphics may not be used as branding on independent products, hardware, packaging, applications, websites, advertising, or promotional materials without prior authorization.
This does not prevent ordinary factual references to the ESPFlight name as described in this policy.
Prohibited Uses
Without prior authorization, you may not:
- present an independent product as an “Official ESPFlight” product;
- use names such as “ESPFlight Official Kit” or similar wording;
- claim that a project or product is certified, approved, sponsored, partnered with, or endorsed by ESPFlight when it is not;
- use the ESPFlight logo as the primary branding of an independent product;
- use ESPFlight branding in a way that may confuse users about the source, ownership, or official status of a product;
- register or use names, logos, domains, accounts, or branding that misleadingly impersonates ESPFlight;
- use ESPFlight branding in a deceptive or misleading manner.
Clear Attribution
Independent products may use wording such as “Based on the ESPFlight platform.” or “Compatible with the ESPFlight platform.”
Where there is a reasonable possibility of confusion, additional clarification should be provided that the product is independently developed and is not an official ESPFlight product.
Modified Projects
Projects based on modified ESPFlight hardware or firmware may accurately state their technical relationship to ESPFlight. Modified versions must not be represented as official ESPFlight releases unless they have been explicitly released or authorized as such by ESPFlight.
Open Technology, Independent Brands
ESPFlight encourages learning, experimentation, modification, development, research, and the creation of independent projects and products based on its open technologies.
The purpose of this Brand Policy is to maintain a clear distinction between the ESPFlight platform itself and independently developed products built using ESPFlight technology.
License Separation
The ESPFlight name, logo, visual identity, and other brand assets are not licensed under the MIT License, CERN-OHL-P-2.0, CC BY 4.0, or any other open license unless explicitly stated otherwise.
All rights to ESPFlight brand assets are reserved.
Questions and Permission
Permission may be granted separately for uses of ESPFlight branding that are not covered by this policy.
